Mice

• There are usually two species of mice that are attracted to your homes, the
house mouse and the field mouse, who seek shelter, warmth and food. Their
three requirements to survive.

• A mouse can squeeze through the smallest of spaces and a 5mm gap around a
pipe from the outside of your house to the inside or cavity space is like an open
door to them welcoming them in to your home.

• If you find evidence of a mouse within your home, there are bound to be more.

• A female mouse can give birth from just two months of age and are able to have
up to a dozen babies every three weeks, meaning within a year one mouse could
have produced as many as 150 young.

• Mice can sometimes transmit diseases within your home by damaging food
packaging and contaminating food and also by leaving small urine trails that are
inadvertently touched. They do, however, cause damage by their chewing and
gnawing.
